Based in the D.C. metro region, Abigail M. Camacho, CSI, LEED AP BD+C, Associate IIDA is a Project Architect & Manager with over 12 years experience in public and civic architecture, mixed-use commercial, multi-family residential, and hospitality design.
Ms. Camacho’s professional training began at Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University (Virginia Tech), where she was just one of ten transfer students admitted to their competitive architecture program. After completing her professional Bachelor of Architecture cum Laude, she pursued some post-professional graduate studies intended for a Doctorate or Ph.D. program. The primary focus of both theses were the relationship between architecture and the landscape, with an emphasis on design theory and urban design, which provides a basis for her design and business philosophy.
Eventually Ms. Camacho relocated to Virginia Tech’s Old Town Alexandria campus, where she soon pursued a career opportunities in the District of Columbia. Since then, her expertise includes both base building and interiors, which range from small projects to large mixed-use to complex built-to-suit projects in both public and private sectors.

Ms. Camacho’s professional training has led to diverse projects types - including both new construction and renovations - ranging from corporate interiors, restaurants and retail banks, lighting design, and museum interiors and exhibits. Currently her experience is evenly divided among federal government, private base-building, and interior architecture. Since 2004, Ms. Camacho’s focus has been primarily on multi-family residential, base-building office, corporate interiors, and retail & restaurant interiors.
In 2009, Abby Camacho completed her Graduate Certificate in Business Administration with Georgetown University, while completing various sections of the Architecture Registration Exam (ARE) and the Leadership in Economic and Environmental Design – Green Associate exam. By 2011, she became a LEED Accredited Professional with an emphasis on building design and construction (LEED AP BD+C).
Currently Ms. Camacho is an active member of the DC Chapter of the Construction Specifications Institute and an associate member with the International Interior Design Association - Mid-Atlantic Chapter. With a background in design and business, she is also a trained facilitator in spirituality and holistic wellness. Her continuing education and professional development is primarily in design and business.
