Happy Autumn and Upcoming CSI Exam

Happy Autumn! I hope everyone has enjoyed their first day (and evening) of autumn.

Beside the change of seasons, the Construction Specifications Institute (CSI) is starting the fall exam period - starting on Monday, September 26 and ending on Saturday, October 8 in the U.S. and Canada.

As mentioned in an earlier post, the DC Metropolitan Chapter of the Construction Specifications Institute (CSI-DC) sponsored a Construction Documents Technologist (CDT) study group from mid-July until mid-September. Big thanks to Lauren Conners, Business Development at Conners Sales Group, Inc., for leading this effort. Stay tuned to a future CSI-DC study group in the spring.

In our study group, we covered and reviewed ten PowerPoint Sessions, as prepared by CSI. This closely follows the CSI Project Delivery Practice Guide, recently published earlier this year. So from now until October 8, I will summarize each of its 14 chapters. (Brief Study & Resource Hint: I was able to purchase a used copy from Amazon.)

What are my blog plans for after October 8?  I plan to write more regularly about sustainability, color, and lighting. This is to compliment my daily Twitter updates on EcoDesign and Color & Light, posted using Paper.li content curation service. Additionally I hope to highlight some topics covers in the Structural Systems portion of the Architecture Registration Examination (ARE).

Thanks and have a great weekend!
