"Ligaya" is Tagalog or Filipino for happiness or joy. Since my childhood, I have enjoyed art and sharing this with others. First this was through drawings, pastels, and then paintings. Eventually my path lead me to architecture. I chose the name "ligaya" to reflect a joy of design which I wish to share with others.
Since March 2010, I have been a member of the DC Metropolitan Chapter of Construction Specifications Institute (CSI-DC). Currently I am the Secretary through 2014. CSI works closely with sustainability (code, products, and practices) and BIM (Building Information Management) technology. Additionally, I plan to share more design insights in the areas of color and lighting. I hope to write about these insights and lessons learned, while sharing a joy of design.
In December 2012, I became a Registered Architect with the State of Maryland. Currently I am in the process of updating this website. This will be completed by June 1, 2013. In the meantime, feel free to visit me at LinkedIn or my mini-portfolio at FolioHD.
